November 2011 KCUC Meeting 

Keith McKinney of Piping Layout Consultants and Scott Shufflebarger of Precision Products will discuss “Latest Technology Tools for the Construction Industry”, an overview and demonstration of these tools including 3D scanning, intelligent 3D modeling and engineering, and robotics.

About Our Speakers
For the past seven years, Keith McKinney has been the Vice President of Piping Layout Consultants, Inc., a commercial and industrial design company based in Louisville, Ky. Keith has eighteen years of experience in the fabrication and design of piping systems. He began his career working in a piping fabrication shop ordering material, creating shop fabrication drawings and calculating bend and flare pipe cut cards. He then moved to a position working onsite for a local chemical company where he designed projects and eventually became the site lead designer.
Keith earned an Associate’s Degree in Mechanical Computer Aided Design Drafting from the Sullivan College of Technology and Design and attended the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School studying Mechanical Engineering.
In June 2011, Keith was elected Vice President of the newly formed SPED (Society of Piping Engineers and Designers) Midwest Chapter.

Scott Shufflebarger is the Survey Training and Support Specialist for Precision Products LLC for the state of Kentucky. Precision Products is a survey and construction technology integrator which provides and supports state-of-the-art products from Trimble®, the world’s leading innovator and manufacturer of GPS and Optical Survey systems and GPS reference station technologies.
Scott is a Kentucky-licensed Professional Licensed Surveyor (PLS) with twenty plus years of practical experience and expertise in this field. He has also received ongoing, extensive training from Trimble and other sources to stay abreast of dynamic technology developments in the areas of surveying, infrastructure, GPS and 3D scanning technology.
